Researching war memorials: our next meeting
Did you know that over 150 men were killed from our area as a result of the first World War? If you take a look at ‘First World War dead from our area’ you’ll be able to see where the next-of-kin of these men lived and the distribution of deaths from such a small area. We describe examples of two of the families affected but there are many more. We’re keen to find our more about these men and the impact on their families. Can you help?
Anne Houson will be talking about researching the Cherry Street School First World War memorial (which is at St Clement’s Church) at our next meeting. It’s on Wednesday 11 February 2015 in the Clement Hall’s meeting room from 7pm to 9pm. All welcome.
