Anne Houson has been researching the three Dodsworth sisters, Dorothy, Kit and Evie, and their role in the First World War. Although they came from a privileged background and lived at Clifton before the war, Dorothy worked as a VAD nurse at Nunthorpe Hall and the sisters were also working at Cooke’s munition factory in Bishophill in 1916. Follow this link for their story.
