Trading in Bishophill

We hope to be able to research the old corner shops of Bishophill for a publication in the same way that we have published books about other old shops in our area, in Bishy Road and South Bank. Sources include trade directories, the census and old postcards.. There are a number of people who can provide information, photos and memories on this. We would encourage a small group of people to get together to work on this for publication.

Micklegate was a very important trading street, worthy of a separate study. Other writers such as Avril Webster Appleton have already produced material and we hope to be able to build on that, again with a new publication. (See Avril E.
